All Jackson County firefighters are nationally certified and tested by the Georgia Fire Academy. Successful applicants for firefighter and medical responder will be required to complete an interview, background check and drug screening. Firefighter candidates must complete a physical assessment lab and a 200 hour Firefighter 1 course. Medical responder candidates must complete a 100 hour Emergency Medical Care class. All training is paid for by Jackson County. No experience necessary.
